REDAN amends constitution, restates commitment to deliver affordable houses for Nigeria

The Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN) reiterates commitment  deliver affordable shelter for all Nigerians.

Dr Aliyu Wammako, President of REDAN, made the declaration while declaring the 2021 Extraordinary General Meeting of the association on Wednesday, in Kaduna.

”REDAN plans  achieve this through the Rural Urban Housing Initiative (RUHI-774).
”Our immediate focus is  build at least 100 affordable housing units in each of the 774 local government areas of the federation bringing it to a total of 77,400 housing units where it is feasible and viable.

”This will be implemented under the RUHI-774.
“As an institution on the supply side of the housing delivery equation, we have marshalled resources, interfaced  critical partners in the housing value chain which includes the Family Homes  Limited and Shelter Afrique  provide Construction finance.
”We have 710 chief executives of estate development firms, who are members in Kaduna right now  deliberate on matters of general interest, progress and growth of the association,” he said.

Wamakko said the RUHI-774 scheme will provide job opportunities for the unemployed and skilled worker.

He said that in other  bring sanity in the real estate practice and development in Nigeria, the association, presented the Real Estate Regulations and Development bill to the 9th Senate for consideration.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the REDAN congress increased the association Board of Trustees (BoT), from nine  13, as stated in Article III of the REDAN constitution.

The real estate helmsman listed the board members to include; Mr Sam Ogiri of Delta Mega Trend Nigeria Limited (South South), Alhaji Husseini Abubakar of Valex Investment limited (North East), Dr Aliyu wammako of Jedo Investment limited (North West) and Dr Mohammed Sanusi of HQ Solutions  Investment limited (North West).
